Now, in a diffrent thread there has been a bit of an arugment about how powerful magic is going to be.
Now at the moment there are two arguments.

Unlimited Magic
You can do whatever you like with magic but your not allowed to do godmod with it. This means like not blowing up the world

limited Magic
Magic is in some way limited, you can't use magic for everything and you have to follow a set of rules for magic/Magic is limited by the fact that spells require a certian time to brew, so a fireball would take five minutes, any break of concentration would mean you have to start again, this'll allow potions but super powerful wizards.

Why I support Limited Magic

I support limited magic for a lot of reason
1) Magic should only be used as a sidearm and not as the main weapon, if we can use magic as a main weapon we are practically encouraging munchkins
2) normally when people post "My character has trained magic for only a year" that means that they can hurl gigantic fireballs at there opponents, open doors and smash holes in walls, there needs to be a limit.
3) People want to ahve a good old battle without the hinderance of magic.

If my memory serves me well, and I believe it does, the original rules and revisions set in place by the moderation team of RpG did intend for magic to have set limits. The biggest limit was that no matter what spell you cast, there was a cool-down time so that you wouldn't be hexing characters left and right, one after the other, like a mad man on crack. I believe Blackfire put it more elegantly (sarcasm). Laughing

I voted yes to this idea before when we were planning it, and I hold firm to that vote even now. So, yes. Let there limits.

I suppose I can compromise with a simple limit like that, though I already voted no. lol (see, I'm not the devil incarnate Hex Wink )

I believe that common RP combat rules should be applied. There doesn't have to be a limit but please be reasonible and fair with the magic.

We could always pull the mod card if someone gets too liberal with their magic and refuses to cooperate.

I agree. An apology is in order.

EDIT*** A public apology. He was publicly insulted.

I have no desire for an apology but I now have a better understanding of the kind of person Hex is and can reason with the humor but it was uncalled for. I am glad that the rest of you agree on this and hold none of you at fualt. I will admit that my post within RPG may stifle the growth of this forum a bit and I apologize for that but every action deserves a reaction. Now lets get back to the original topic.

Nah. Scandal always attracts attention. lol

While you not desiring an apology is a credit to your character, I still believe Hex should say something more than it was just a joke.

An explination to the public is the better idea so that indiviguals can simply see that there was a mistake, it was corrected, and it won't happen again. Do this quickly and it communicates that the PW development forum is full of reasonible people who can quickly address any problem calmly and maturely. All of this is true but the people need to know that through some way other than being told so by the development team.
